Banff - 2008
Being away for a couple of years, I finally had to pull the 914 off the jack stands and drive it. After 3 years
of sitting it started right up - but the old fuel injection line started to leak. Fortunately I had a full fuel line
replacement kit on hand and was on my way within an hour or so. August is our wedding anniversary month and we usually
go to the Alberta Rockies to have some time away from the rest of the family.

The weather could not have been better, sunny with clear skys the entire week-end. We splurged this year and stayed
at the Banff Springs Hotel. It was a busy week-end and we received a free upgrade and stayed in the Queen's Room, a
room where the Queen of England stayed over 50 years ago during an early visit to Canada during her reign. During the
week-end we drove the twisty highway 1A from Banff to Lake Louise, then drove to Moraine Lake. After that we took
the gondola at the Lake Louise ski resort and then drove to Marble Canyon where we walked to the falls. After out traditional
Geek meal at the Balkan's we took in Elbow falls just near our hotel. On the way home the final day we drove to Lake
Louise took in the sites and then headed back to Calgary ready to head back to Texas. The car performed marvelously
and received many accolades.
Houston to Sherwood Park - 2009
With the job on the move to europe it was time to
take the 914 back home. I shipped it to Houston but planned on driving it back home to home in Sherwood Park. I
left early on Saturday, made it to Yellowstone on the Sunday, spend Monday in Yellowstone and was back in Alberta on Tuesday.
Had great weather and the little car hardly missed a beat. I did have a hard start one morning in East Yellowstone
- which I'm pretty sure was due to a sticky relay which will get changed out some day.

The car is in storage again. Hope to have it out again in a couple of years.
