After having the car more or less stripped, after the repairs I thought best to put it all back together again before painting.  Just to make sure everything fit and drill all the holes for the threshold plates and such.  It was a good idea as I was working closely around the windshield area I realized that it was loose and could be lifted right out.  New rubber fixed that all up.  It was nice to see that the doors all fit on nicely and close good - so everything seems nice and straight.

It was then off to the paint booth.  I hadn't painted a car before but watched my Dad enough.  I'd say the paint job is a 8 out of 10, excellent for the price I paid (after colour sanding it will be a 10).  Nine days later the car came out Pheonix Red, picking the colour was tough, mainly because the 914 looks pretty good in any bright colour.

Paint job was not bad, but had some orange peal.  Colour Sanding, however really cleaned up the surface.  Its time consuming but the results are amazing.  Here is before colour sanding, note the molted surface.

Here is what you get after colour sanding, these pictures are of the same rear fender, now you can read a book in the reflection.

I also had a nasty run in the back.  Sanded it out and then polished, again an easy repair (photo to the left).
